I'm doing a #mindfulness challenge to start the year and this morning we considered what makes us feel heard.
We were encouraged to write our thoughts on the following prompts:
Feeling heard
Presence
Non-judgment
Validation
Connection
I am grateful that I chose to take part in this challenge - 9 days done. 19 to go.
Insight Timer got so bloated. I know they got to keep things afloat, but this is too much.
Does anyone know some good meditation timers that work with Android? I think I'll go back to Clock app.
Yesterday was my 365th consecutive day of meditation practice. Not once did I forget or intentionally procrastinate. Only one day was I down to the wire- I started the app at 11:58pm. In my defense I was at a concert & home late.
Meditation has changed my life. While I still experience panic attacks, they are less frequent & I can get myself back to calm relatively quickly. It has improved my mental health & has boosted my confidence.
Science - as well as millennia of empirical practice - has proven that meditation is good for us. I think the reason so few people meditate is because results are not instantaneous.
You are worth the effort! And the rewards.
@maryhamermusic yeah, I use so many self-care apps! #insighttimer for meditation, #noom for weight loss, #reframe for drinking, #Endel for concentrating. #zero is fine; apart from the timer, it has articles about the science of fasting and related topics; it has challenges, and it can integrate with your other health trackers (through the Health app on an iPhone for example) so you can check the interactions among exercise, sleeping, and fasting, etc.
I deeply hate Mother's & Father's Day & I knew when I woke that at some point today I'm going to have negative feelings towards a loved one. This is an unpleasant way to start the day. So I made myself a cup of darjeeling #tea & decided to #meditate. It was the right choice. One track was a quick 10 minute gratitude podcast & the other was a 13 minute talk about miracles & anxiety. Both on #InsightTimer.
Tonight is my 209th session in a row in my meditation practice. I do not exaggerate when I say that it has been life changing. If I had only known the benefits earlier.

It's available via podcasts but also in the wonderful free meditation and sleep app called #InsightTimer
I've only made it thru a few. Oatmeal is particularly effective at knocking me out lol. But I was interested enough to listen to the whole article about Dragons lol
