Our Sun! Our Sun shows multiple Sun Spots on the surface. Almost all sunspots here are the width of Earth. The largest sunspot is equal to about 3 1/2 or 4 Earths (inner dark circle) including the shaded pnumbra around it 7 - 8 Earth widths would fit.

The large yellow orange disk of the Sun through a White Light Filter shows off 70% of the Sun's surface including darker areas called Sunspots.

The larger Sunspot would be equal to 3 1/2 - 4 Earths in central dark area, surrounding pnumbra would be about 7 - 8 Earth widths.

109 Earths would fit across the diameter of our Sun.

Sunspots are about 4,000⁰F cooler than the rest of the surface of the Sun. Strong magnetic storms on the Sun hold heat back from being released from within the Sun. This causes these "sunspots" to be cooler than the rest of Sun surface about 10,000⁰F!

Did you know goldfinches lose their gold colors in the winter? During the winter, the males lose their little black feathers on their heads, and most of their bright yellow feathers turn to a light brownish color. The females become mostly gray.
