Misty morning on tranquil inlet, oil painting. The morning sun reflects gently on the calm water, creating hazy reflections of surrounding trees and small islands. Mist from the cool night is just beginning to burn off. The sky shows all the promise of a new day, blue with white clouds starting to form. Trees and bushes grow tall on the larger islands, while the smaller islands support grasses that wave in the breeze.

An oil painting of the Ryōan-ji, The Temple of the Dragon at Peace, in Kyoto, Japan. Painting shows a figure walking along a covered porch area with green bushes and grass along the right side and a pagoda shape in the background.

Ryōan-ji, is a world-famous Zen temple and garden. The calm permeates the UNESCO World Heritage Site. On a side of the temple, away from the dry, pebble garden, a practitioner carried the same serenity of the setting. This painting captures a visual representation of the tranquil atmosphere.

A vivid take on what, if you ask me, is the finest of all the fine arts: Art Nouveau somehow feels as timeless as it does utopian still today, and few such works hit the spot as well as Alfons Mucha's vision of "Dance".
