I made this tiny little lino print today. Unfortunately I didn't have any left of the good thick oil based ink and only had this runny watery one.

Fear ye mortals! You might think you have vanquished Nospurratu but the undead cannot be easily destroyed! They have returned to rip your fine furnishings and leave their victims scattered across the kitchen floor!
My last edition of my vampire kitty has sold out - so here's a revamped one! https://www.blockforest.co.uk/products/nospurratu-returns-linocut-print

I added stars to my wizard toad cards. I carved the stars and used a metallic gold ink pad, much easier for the small size of the stars and I could randomize placement.

Happy birthday Rosalind Franklin (1920 – 1958), #chemist & x-ray #crystallographer whose x-ray diffraction images were instrumental to discovering double-helix structure of #DNA, made important contributions to #carbon & #virus research, was 1 of the great scientists of the 20th century.
Watson’s bio lead some to (inaccurately) joke, “What did Watson and Crick discover?” “Rosalind Franklin’s notes.”
Happy birthday to pharmaceutical #chemist Alice Ball (1892-1916) who developed 1st effective treatment for #leprosy. Though her life was cut tragically short, her research saved 1000s from exile & painful, ineffective lifelong treatment for leprosy, & she was a trailblazer for both women & Black scientists.
Ball studied #chemistry at UW earning a BSc & 2nd degree in pharmacy 2 years later. She published “Benzoylations in Ether
Happy birthday to #astronomer Vera Rubin (neé Cooper, ‘28-‘16) & her discovery that angular motion of galaxies deviates from predictions, 1st evidence for dark matter, now known as 5x as common as matter & the stuff which dictates dynamics of galaxies & evolution of our universe! The Nobel committee waited 3 years after she died to reward another for the theory of dark matter.

of the words. "Parliament" is in a gothic script. "Owls" has an owl eye for 'o' and the remaining letters are feathered. The owls are, right to left and top to bottom: the Eastern screech, Northern saw-whet, long-eared, Barred, Great Horned and the American Barn owls.

I've been trying to transfer images from a laser printer onto a gel plate, and then onto a background paper.
Today I finally had one successful failure where I got the image onto the plate, but after that I failed to get if off it without messing it up.
I got annoyed and tried something else. This print here is a partially successful transfer using a magazine page.
Still not sure what I'm doing wrong but it's time for a break.
At least there's progress.

Some of his findings are subtly alluded to in the layout of the pea flowers, like a Punnett square depicting a cross between two pea plants heterozygous for purple and white blossoms.

*He had initially set out to study the rules determining plant hybrids but was able to later reinterpret his data to look at heredity with a species.2/3
I’m working on a new pottery surface design technique. New to me, at least: they have been doing this for many hundreds of years in Asia:
Carving a clay stamp, firing it, then using it o stamp the clay while it’s still a little bit soft. It reminds me of the thought process when printmaking.
I’m going to use a celadon style glaze to bring out the texture and beauty of the porcelain clay.

Here is more of my reposted art. this was a little sketch from earlier this year on bsky i am still super hyped about -- i screenprinted this ugly thing on construction piece using a fax machine, of all things, to make the stencil! well, the brother (sister) fax-575 (she is transfem) ate up a lot more of the riso stencil than i wanted, giving it a crude look, but its an exciting home printing proof of concept that isn't too new. I love ghettomimeo so much
it was the same equipment i used to make this piece, 'Birthday Girl'. It's called Birthday Girl? I guess it is now. I will be potentially disassembling my fax since its not in its best shape after Birthday Girl, to see if i can salvage the thermal print head and use it as a 'thermal wand' of some sorts to freely image anywhere with an outlet.
tell-tale trail of a j-shaped flash pattern. Hence the common name “big dipper firefly”. Their twilight glow and flashing light can look quite magical!
