Last time I bought a Desktop PC component was the Radeon R290 at launch.
Since then I have traded laptops, tablets and consoles like a madman.
I wonder how the Desktop PC market will perform in the next years. Pandemic was a huge boost, but eventually it will contract again because the value proposition has not lowered as expected.

That's a cooler master Storm Stryker i found on Offerup for $40. Vintage circa like 2013 or some shit.
Mf got 8 x 3.5" HDD docs and 4 x 2.5" SSD docs plus the lil M.2 slots on the motherboard.
No kill like overkill for what's about to be some regular home backups and servers for Plex and SyncThing

Und Ja, ne In Installation von #PorteusKiosk auf #SSD ist eher nen "#LightweightDesktop" denn "Thin Client" [weil letztere i.d.R. #diskless per #PXE im LAN gebooted werden] aber das ändert nichts am Setup aus Tastatur, Maus & Bildschirm und nem "Desktop"...
Oder sind wir so elitär dass wie nen #NUC oder den @Raspberry_Pi #RaspberryPi & #Pi400 nicht als #DesktopPC betrachten wollen weil zu kompakt?
Formfaktor ist eher sekundär.

Natürlich benötigen die meisten sowas nicht mehr, Laptops und kleinere Mobilgeräte reichen oft. Ein Auslaufmodell sind Desktop-PCs aber bei weitem nicht. 😉
I see LG now sells a model of the superb 28-inch 16:18 aspect ( = 4:4.5 aspect ) 2560x2880 display lacking the desk-clamp arm in favor of a more traditional desk stand for $100 less.
Total price = $599
This is the best display I have ever used. It is the main display on my Mac Studio.
