So, Today I plugged my Alesis e-drum total kit USB out into my laptop running Ubuntu Studio, I loaded up the red zepplin drum kit lv2 plugin in Mixbus for the first time. I was really happy to find out that It just worked ootb and now I'm tracking my own drums with a decent sounding sample kit! Ehdin jo miettiä, että miten kuvakaappaaminen onnistuu, mutta Windowsista tuttu PrtScr-nappi toimii tässäkin! Gimpissä on huomattavasti enemmän totuteltavaa.
Ehkä kuitenkin löytyy muutakin mitä jo osaan. Macien kanssa leikkiessä sai vain tottua siihen että MIKÄÄN ei toimi kuin Windowsissa.

@tomminieminen Veikkaan että tulee asenneltua Linuxeja vielä muihinkin koneisiin. Luulen myös että en koskaan opi ymmärtämään kaikkia näihin liittyviä hienouksia. Ihan mukavasti tuota KDE:n ulkonäköä pystyy muokkaamaan ja pidän kyllä käyttöliittymän minimalismista.

...its just a dirge of effected guitar jamming through the Line 6 Helix. Now what is weird is how the Helix isnt class compliant (as far as I know) ..which means someone with the UbStu developers is using the Helix.
Anyway, nearly 7 minutes of me making a fool of myself on the Palm Bay.

Where is the best place to get guidance for this #Ubuntu / #UbuntuStudio installer crash problem? Search engines are useless and our forums say ISO corruption or media error, and in my case both check ok.

This is getting tedious. #UbuntuStudio cannot possibly contain material its own installer cannot extract, and my iso passes sha256 and my install media is flawless (says badblocks) and yet each boot misbehaves differently, failing because it cannot 'read' something.

Well, at least it is a different result! #UbuntuStudio shouldn't be so hard. None of the USB write methods complain about my media, but shouldn't the start-disk writer offer SOME sort of integrity check?

I had #Ubuntu installed with no network, but adding #UbuntuStudio installer caused problems so I tried their iso and once again it fails after curtin command install
ISO checks OK.

Another artifact of my ill-advised jump to #UbuntuStudio 25.04, and only on the older laptop, Desktop screen with it's wallpaper and icons are black. Settings gladly sets them, but nothing shows; I'm guessing it's failed-load driver still in the xsession-errors. It's nvidia GF-108/GT-540m hardware that only barely runs Xorg, so could be 'nouveau' driver has finally left me behind?
Could also be the machine is faster without it! 
I never use desktop icons anyway!

OK #Linux folk - I am in the process of seeing if I can transition to fulltime Linux creative use, but am encountering some issues. I've installed #UbuntuStudio 24.04.2 LTS on my PC (Intel with 2080ti GPU video and 32GB memory) and the overall interaction feels very laggy. There's a 250-500ms gap between my moving the mouse and actions. This is frustrating in #BitwigStudio when parameters jump about, but it is pretty much everywhere. Anyone have some pointers to share?

@amadeus I am actively moving away from anything iLok. The more I dig about in Bitwig, the more I find it can do nearly everything I want (if not more than what I expected).
I am also impressed that testing #UbuntuStudio on an older PC has resulted in zero crackling of audio output (#Ardour )whereas under Windows 10 it is nearly unusable for the noise.

@fedops in prior plasma desktops, Compositor was a necessary option in settings to set off when running on an rpi4; the setting no longer exists by i found not to load it on startup, so my display is a bit abrupt now, but snappy. This is old hardware, gt-105 or something like that.
It could be dropping the override was enough, so I may try enabling compositor later.
This #ubuntustudio laptop was victim of the 25.04 #kubuntucrisis so all sorts of things are just broken.

I'm super glad to be rid of M$ win7 and fully back with #UbuntuStudio, breathing new life into my 10 year old Dell desktop pc. Missing the luxury of Ableton's familiar workflow, but quickly filling the gap with #LMMS and #Ardour. Already got a dance track sketched in just a few days, most of which has been spent on familiarisation with the unknown. Now I'm the production bottleneck; sample libraries vs original recordings, self doubt as a composer, the usual. Composition encouragement welcome :)
