Omg this is a great example (exemplar?) of how to present ideas in a way people will remember. Like damn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiwX9Y0NbiQ
19/ Anastasia Bauer is presenting a corpus driven approach to signs/gestures that share a form / 3rd day of the #ViCom annual meeting #visualCommunication
#ViCom annual meeting. First talk proposes to apply common standards to human and non-human communication. The question is what creates meaning: typically characterized as intentional, voluntarily controlled, and metarepresentational (theory of mind). But all criteria are not necessary for meaning #visualCommunication #linguistics #animalCommunication

At the "Mediatization vs. #Datafication" conference in Lublin, we are discussing the use of #QSort in #mediatization research on the basis of a presentation by Szymon Zylinski. The possibilities here go far beyond #mediarepertoires and also concern the changing "structures of feeling" and #visualcommunication. We ourselves have developed MeSort, which is also #opensource: https://mesoftware.org/index.php/mesort/ This website is new to me: https://qmethod.org/resources/software/

When life gives you train delays, take minimal photos.
@HarastaEva well. Not to be overly serious over a quip, but the pose I’m referring to definitely corresponds to reading, not showing #visualCommunication #gesture
Visuals are crucial for impactful presentations. However, sourcing the right images can be a hassle — searching, downloading, resizing, and paying.
What if you could simplify this? Well, I am happy to say; you can!
Learn to integrate stock images seamlessly in PowerPoint, free and within the app. Access an enormous number of high-quality images, customise them, and add them to your slides to take your presentation to the next level. And if you happen to also be a Microsoft 365 Subscriber, and even larger collection of images awaits you!
Check out my video to discover how. https://buff.ly/44cxQWN
Please Boost to spread the knowledge, and if you found value in the content, a sub would be appreciated.

We test this (i.e. transparency + translucency) in a BIG (n= 1000) survey. Please, please, please participate:
(and share link with your parents/grandparents/older friends.. we also need >60 yr cohorts!)

ILLUSTRATION. Pablo Amargo's *Una forma de decirlo* just arrived on a slow boat from Spain. I love the way he mixes mono-lines and solid-fills to create playful set-pieces. The book features brief snippets of text (in Spanish) reflecting on illustration as a pursuit. Amargo even did the graphic design, which features many tasteful fine touches.
Just discovered this illustrator, #RobertoFerraro.
What a trove of treasures! #VisualCommunication
Just two examples:
- What micromanagers do vs what they think they do
- How much you learn: from theory, from practice, from mistakes

#AI is increasingly being used in the #CreativeProcess, but it is not without its controversies. #Artists are defending their art from image-generating AI models, and critics argue that AI-powered tools may diminish the role of human creativity. Canva clarifies that its tools are intended to help humans create ideas quickly.

"Having first appeared over half a century ago, Games #Pictograms are no longer just simple and generalised images for signage, as the whole concept has been reinvented by #Paris2024," the committee explains. "The newly unveiled pictograms illustrate each of the #Olympic and #Paralympic sports in a unique coat of arms, paying homage to the complexity of each of these #sports and what makes them original." https://www.creativebloq.com/news/paris-2024-pictograms #GraphicDesign #VisualCommunication
