@gettie I mean, yeah #ARM & #ARM64 ain't "#mainstream" -yet.

  • #Apple obviously does utilize their #SingleVendor - approach for very tight integration extremely well, unlike any other vendor.

That being said I'd still prefer some craptastic chinese netbook simply because it has some regular-ass #UEFI / #BIOS and I can shove any OS on it that I want...

Booted Kali Linux, opened Firefox… and boom: Amazon, Groupon, Allegro on the homepage 😳
Apparently my penetration testing OS wants me to buy a lawnmower before scanning ports.

Cross-site tracking + IP matching + sponsored tabs = welcome to the panopticon.

Today on the IC_null docket:

- Is a #fedora actually awesome?
- How's debian do where #accessibility is concerned?
- Will we have time for #kaliLinux?

I discuss the installation experience, the first-time experience for these distros when using a #screenReader, and we answer the question: can you actually #justSwitchToLinux if you depend on assistive tech?

The fun starts at 3 PM EST, 9 PM CEST over at twitch.tv/IC_Null or youtube.com/@viewpointunseen #selfPromo #stream #foss #tech #blind

The weather's cloudy a lukewarm. Perfect for today's stream where I create a "yes, but no" resource for everyone who tells me to just switch to #linux :P
Nah but seriously we'll look at a number of first-time experiences (install, initial boot into the OS ec.) of various popular and less popular distros. I will comment on the #accessibility considerations primarily for #screenReader users and I'm sure other things'll come up. See you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed around 3 PM EST/8P BST/9pm CEST over at twitch.tv/ic_null or youtube.com/@blindlyCoding. My #peertube account is, unfortunately, not approved yet :) #selfPromo #tech #foss #selfHosting #homeLab #stream #ubuntu #debian #fedora #elementaryOs #kaliLinux #blind
