Auf der Suche nach einer geeigneten Bildvorlage von Julia, stellte ich fest, dass sie auf (fast) allen Fotos am Schmunzeln, Lächeln, Lachen Grinsen und manchmal sogar kurz vorm Losprusten ist, es sei denn, sie verweist gerade jemanden aus dem Parlament, wegen ihrer Meinung nach ungehörigem Dresscode. Sie ist halt eine Frohnatur aus Rheinland-Pfalz.

Not quite Handforth Parish Council, but a recent meeting of a village council here in central Ohio evidently displayed a dispute between two council members over the appropriateness of one of the members wearing a hoodie to the meeting.

His argument that 'this is a cashmere hoodie ... that came from Saks Fifth Avenue' did not sway his colleague.

The company asked them to come to work in clothes they used to wear in their zoom meetings.
It would definitely be more fun if people could dress as they wish. It raises an interesting point about workplace dress codes.

I've mentioned before that I think reasonable people can disagree about trans teens and medical treatment or participation in women's sports teams, but there really can be no acceptable justification of Sid Miller's dress code. It's an act of small minded spiteful bigotry.

Side note: the outfits that set off my alarm bells are those donned by professional westerners like Miller!

Earlier in November a clip of a female student walking around campus in her underwear went viral. In the video, she’s seen being arrested shortly afterwards & according to Iranian authorities, she was taken to a psychiatric ward. She is now released & according to a spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Justice, she’s been cared for & reunited with her family. It’s not the first time Iranian authorities refer to mental illness when a woman violates the dress code.
